Zakia al-Sina'i

Zakia al-Sina'i (زكية الصناعي) is a translator and localizer in her late twenties, based in Cairo. She studied electrical engineering at Ain Shams University, then found that subtitling tech talks for friends had quietly turned into a career moving technical writing between English and Arabic.

She works in the modern Egyptian register most tech and business readers actually use, not textbook formality, and she is stubborn about the small things: how a brand name should be transliterated, when a Latin-script term should be left alone, and whether a sentence reads naturally out loud. Weekends are for strong ahwa, the secondhand book stalls on Sur El Azbakeya, and arguing about football.

For Namefi she localizes articles on domain names and digital identity into Arabic — carrying over not just the words but the reputations, puns, and cultural weight that names pick up along the way.
