A domain portfolio is a curated collection of domain names held by a single owner or entity, managed with the same discipline as any investment portfolio — tracking renewal dates, monitoring holding costs, pursuing sales through the aftermarket, and periodically appraising each name's value via domain appraisal. Portfolios range from a handful of hand-registered names to thousands of premium domains assembled over years of active buying. Investors must balance the carrying cost of annual renewals against the expected sale price of each name, pruning weak assets before renewal fees exceed realistic return.
